Every year Bisso Marine Co., Inc. and its employees rededicate themselves to providing the safest workplace in our industry. This joint resolve by both management and workforce has provided an ever-improving workplace where all employees participate in refining and re-defining our safety program.

SAFETY FIRST – SAFETY ALWAYS

At hire, all employees are provided with an orientation that includes:

• General Safety Training in the major OSHA disciplines

• Drug and Alcohol Awareness for both the employee and supervisor

• Marine Fire Response

• Emergency Procedures and Emergency Action Plan

• Employee Safety Plan

• Incident reporting instructions

• Conformance

• Responsible Safety Incentive Award

• Personal Protection Equipment

When a new employee reports to the job after orientation, he is provided with training in his job responsibilities. All new employees wear a "hi-vis orange" hardhat during the first six months of employment so everyone is aware the employee is still in training. Bisso Marine Co., Inc. expects all employees to participate in the training of a new employee – and this constant awareness by the workforce produces a focus on safety that trains the new employee and reinforces safety awareness of the mentoring employee.

Bisso Marine Co., Inc. then requires frequent, ongoing training for employees, including:

• OSHA Super Session – annually
  (two day training in all OSHA required topics)

• STCW and Bridge Simulator Training (for all USCG license holders)

• Near Miss Training (all employees)

• Forklift and Crane Certifications (for operators)

• First Aid and CPR (available to all employees)

• Rigging Certification (for on-deck personnel and divers)

• Confined Space Awareness (all employees)

• Confined Space Entry Certification (for testing prior to entering)

• HAZWOPER Awareness Training (all employees)

• Driving Safety (for employees driving a company vehicle)

• Fire Watch (all employees)

• Advanced Firefighting (all field employees)

• Behavior Based Safety training (all employees)

Customized and classroom training is provided by Advanced Safety and Training Management of Lafayette, LA, and by Delgado Community College in New Orleans.

An Employee Safety Committee comprised of hands-on employees; a Managers Safety Review Committee comprised of upper management and our Training Team guide all of the many different components of the Bisso Marine Co., Inc. safety program in an ongoing commitment to "zero-tolerance" of accidents.
