6 l/B MIGHTY CHIEF

The L/B MIGHTY CHIEF is an ABS+A1/USCG inspected 196’ x 76’ x 11.5’ laybarge. The L/B MIGHTY CHIEF mooring system is outfitted with (7) Skagit RB97 drums, each drum capable of pulling 72 tons. Each mooring winch drum has 5,000' x 1.25" wire rope, the L/B MIGHTY CHIEF uses (7) 3.5 ton Delta Flipper anchors providing a very capable station keeping system.

L/B MIGHTY CHIEF is currently configured to lay from 2” up to a 24" single line or up to a triple 8" line. The barge is outfitted with two welding stalls, one x-ray stall and one field joint stall. The L/B MIGHTY CHIEF can smoothly transition pipelines from the firing line to the seafloor with an adjustable 50' stinger.

The L/B MIGHTY CHIEF is equipped with a 40 kip tensioner, electric welding machines, two 1600 CFM compressors, two 10x14x17 Bingham jet pumps each producing 3500 GPM @ 600PSI which supply the stern hose reel which has 600’ of bundled air and jet hoses which feed the custom adjustable burial jetsled capable of providing up to 10 feet of cover. All barge operations are supported by a 90 ton MANITOWOC 3900 with 100 feet of boom which is arranged to travel the length of the barge.

The Air/Gas diving spread on the L/B MIGHTY CHIEF is comprised of a gas rack, electric 5120 diver air compressors, double lock 54” decompression chambers, hand jetting, airlifting, liftbags up to 10,000 lbs and an array of hydraulic powered diver hand tools. The BISSO MARINE DIVING division can provide additional diving equipment to support all surface air / mixed gas diving requirements.

The L/B MIGHTY CHIEF is equipped with comfortable accommodations for 61 persons offering satellite television, voice and data communications.
